Grand Cru – Egon Van Herreweghe
Grand Cru is a wine brochure that served as an invitation for Egon Van Herreweghe's eponymous exhibition at Hopstreet gallery in 2020. The show consisted of eleven barite photographs hidden in a wooden crate. The photographic paper was not fixed and therefore still sensitive to light. The brochure acted as a foretaste and invited collectors to order the work beforehand. After all, as you can only open the box once before the photo starts to go black, it is – just like fine wine – best to keep it closed as long as possible.
