EARTH I, The Original Sin – Flor Maesen

EARTH is a comic series made by Flor Maesen and gives insight into the images and stories that inspired Maesen in his artistic development. These influences are the starting point for a comic strip in which a protagonist explores a landscape assembled from collages of recent events, historical images and sculptures.

Part 1: The Original Sin tells the story of a mortally wounded woman who crawls through an apocalyptic landscape. She sees, among other things, a pile of severed Jesus heads that set the stage for an interracial orgy while some Giacometti-esque figures merge with their real-life counterparts on an ISIS battlefield.
